This was painted from a photograph, after a summer tour of the North West Highlands, which we made some years ago. It brings back the tranquil atmosphere of the harbour, with the waves gently lapping the sides of the boat.

Stob Ghabhar in winter is a spectacular sight. My inspiration for this painting came from a picture by David Bellamy, a Welsh artist who combines his love of mountain climbing with his talent for watercolour painting. He has made several TV programmes and has written several excellent books.
